LSE Principal

Letter from Principal: Mrs. Julia Coggins

Greetings Families,

It is my honor to continue serving the Locust Street Expressive Arts Elementary community! I have many years of experience both as a classroom teacher and school administrator.

I began my career in education as a fourth-grade teacher at Blue Ridge Elementary School here in Columbia. I have also taught at Grant Elementary School and Centralia Intermediate School. Before joining the LSE team, I was the assistant principal at Eliot Battle Elementary School for three years. Prior to my role at Battle Elementary, I was an administrator at Alpha Hart Lewis Elementary School for two years.

My undergraduate education degree is from Evangel University and I hold graduate degrees from the University of Missouri and William Woods. I have three wonderful children Caylee, Clayton, and Clara. My husband and I have known each other our entire lives and have been married for 15 years.
